I'm an Auntie!!

Last night while I was out having a good time with my friends, my sister went into labor and had been trying to get ahold of me all evening! So I felt really bad that I wasn't there for her when she called. But I called her when I got home and she had just given birth to her beautiful baby boy about 20 minutes before I called. Nice timing huh! He is so cute! I just wish I could be there to hold him and cuddle with him. It is so weird that my baby sister has her own baby now! Just means I'm getting older, ugh! But here are some pic's of my adorable nephew! His name is James Odin Teare born Nov. 6 2010, 6lbs 14oz and 20 inches long! Hooray! I can't wait to see him!

It's Autumn time!

One thing that I LOVE about living in Utah is fall!! The color's are so beautiful, the weather is nice. It's just a wonderful time of year. We took some pictures around Temple Square and Liberty Park to capture some of the beautiful colors this year.

We have been pretty busy over the last month. We listened to General Conference, attended Regional Conference, and hung out with friends a lot. We went to the zoo with our friend Kimberly and her girls a couple of weeks ago. Katy always loves going to the zoo because there is so much to do and see there. I think her favorite exhibit is probably the monkeys and apes. She loves watching them swing from branch to branch and make funny noises. They also have a carousel at the zoo. We were standing in line waiting to ride and the girls were all looking at the different animals and deciding which one they wanted to ride. Katy was set on riding a zebra until....... she saw "Dorothy". She had a "pet" Praying Mantis a while back that she had named Dorothy, but we had to let it go back outside. Well, they had a Praying Mantis to ride on the carousel. When she saw that, that was it, that is what she was riding! After the ride was over she gave "Dorothy" a big hug and a kiss and told her that she would see her later! She's so cute! I just love her imagination!!

Katy being a rockstar! She just loves playing with this guitar we got from our toy trade. It can get a little annoying after a while, though. Thanks Aubrey!

Also this past month we decided to invite our friends, the Robisons, over for pumpkin carving and treats. We had so much fun that we decided to make this an annual event. It was so fun watching Kimberly cringe as she was cleaning out her pumpkin, and seeing what everyone came up with. We carved them nearly a week before Halloween so by the time Halloween came around they were pretty shriveled up. So next year we'll have to wait until a day or two before.

Our men hard at work.

Hugs!

I have no idea what I was doing in this picture! Haha!

Everyone's finished product from left to right: Kimberly's owl, Evan's goofy face, Victoria's haunted house, and Bart and Abigail's "fairy" pumpkin.

This year for Halloween I figured I could let Katy decide what she wanted to be for Halloween. Little did I know how specific she would be. We went and looked at some costumes. She had found a few that she really liked, but as soon as she saw the pirate girl costume, that was it, that is what she wanted to be! But it had to have a sword and a "Jack Sparrow" hat! Crazy girl. I can't believe she's old enough to articulate these kinds of things to me! She was the CUTEST little pirate girl ever! She had so much fun trick or treating and playing with her friends at the trunk or treat! I can only imagine what she's going to want to be next year!! It was a great month, but I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving. It's going to be here sooner than we know it!

Lovin' Life

Well Katy had her 3rd birthday a couple of weeks ago! I can't believe she's 3 already! Where does the time go?? It was a great day, despite the rain! We had planned for her and all of her friend's to go play in the water over at the park, but due to the rain and lightning, we wound up just going over to the church and letting all the girls play around in the nursery. It wasn't exactly how I had planned, but I think everyone still had fun.

Evan and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary this week. I feel like we've been together for ages, in a good way. It was a wonderfully simple and sweet anniversary. We couldn't go out the day of our anniversary because Evan had to work, but he did surprise me with a beautiful arrangement of Sunflowers! We went out on a date the following day. We haven't been able to go out on a date in a very long time, so it was nice, and kinda weird, to be out without our Bug. It was nice, cool, overcast evening. We went and enjoyed the tasty buffet at the The Roof. I love that restaurant. It has the most beautiful views of the city and the temple. It was nice and quiet, just me and my sweetheart. After our long and delicious meal, we strolled around temple square. We headed on over to the Conference Center and enjoyed looking at the Arnold Friberg paintings of the Book of Mormon stories. They were, as always, beautiful and intriguing. I love the way he uses light in all of his paintings. Lovely. It was a perfect, and much needed evening.

In other news, Evan is still working and going to school. The project he has been working on with this company, however, comes to an end as of next Saturday. We're not sure what will come after that, but we are hopeful. I have minimized the number of children I babysit from 2 to 1. I have a nice summer break for about 3 weeks, and I am enjoying every minute of it. As soon as we know when Evan will get another job, I will most likely stop babysitting all together so I can have time to get Katy involved in some extra curricular activities. We are also, looking forward to a greatly anticipated, and long overdue, trip to Arizona in a week. Evan hasn't been able to take a trip anywhere since we moved here a year and a half ago so he is very excited to get out of the valley. It will be nice to get to see both of our families and spend some good time with them. If only we could just pack them all up and bring them home with us!

Summertime

It has been a fun, and somewhat busy summer for us. We have had lots of visitor's and they just keep coming! In June Evan's two sister's came and stayed with us for a week. It was so nice having them here. We never did anything really stupendous, just lounged about the house most of the time. We had our occasional outings to the park, and drives around town. We did make a couple of longer drives out to Fairview, and Herriman to see family. I think the funnest oart about the whole trip was the car ride itself. We had a great time making each other laugh until we cried, and just getting to be silly! I just love my sister-in-law's they are great!!

Here is Katy playing in the water at the park.

After our visit with Evan's sister, one week later, my sister and my brother-in-law came and stayed with us for a few days. This too was a great visit. We went to the aquarium, and did lots and LOTS of shopping!!! I love getting to shop with my sister. We got a ton of great stuff for their little baby boy, who is due in November. It will be my first time as Auntie! I'm so excited for them. We had fun staying up late playing card games and playing the Wii. My sister brought a couple of games from their house that they like, one of which was a dance game. I was TERRIBLE!!! I felt like I was watching one of my parents try and play, because they are always bad at the video games. Oh well, just means I'll have to practice a little more.

Next up on the visitor's list is Evan's cousin, Alan and his wife Jen. They are recently married, and we have not been able to meet his new wife. They will only be here for a day or two, but it will be nice to catch up on things. Alan is a very quirky person, so it should be an interesting visit. Also while Alan is here, one of my great friends from Roswell, that I grew up with will be here with her husband and 3 boys. It is so fun to get to have these little mini reunion's with friends.

So, like I said it's been the summer of visitor's. That's not even the end of it, but the rest of our visitor's will be here later this month, so I will have to make a part 2 to this summer madness. I'm just grateful to have so many friends, and wonderful family that like to come and see us.

Getting Started

I decided to give this whole blogging thing a try. It seems like a great way for friends and family to keep up to date with the happenings of our life. We will see if I can keep things up to date! Truth be told, there really is not much "happening" with our life.

It is now April and the weather has been a little crazy so far. I myself am hoping that the beautiful colors and warmth of spring will unfold soon. My husband, on the other hand, really wouldn't mind if the snow wanted to linger for a few more weeks. He's a little goofy.
We just enjoyed a great conference, and Easter weekend
with my parents and brother Nicholas. It is not fun being so far away from family. I miss them all the time. It was so nice to be able to have them near. My favorite part was getting to cook in the kitchen with my mother. She is so creative and wonderful at cooking. I try to take every opportunity I get cooking with her to learn new things. It is fun to see what she comes up with. I feel like the majority of our time was spent cooking and eating great food. We were able to spend time with my mother's sister who lives here also, as well as her kids. We dyed Easter eggs, and then I was put in charge of hiding all the eggs for my adorable little cousins to go find. It was a great time. Monday came and it was time for my family to head back to the hot desert of Arizona. Hopefully I can see them again soon!Evan is currently going to school to be a graphic designer. He absolutely loves school. He is so talented and so creative. It is a perfect field for him. He will get his Associates degree around this time next year. He is also working full time, and about to start a new job with Convergys. I think he is looking forward to the change, and hoping this job will be a little more challenging.

Katy is currently 2 years, old, and will be turning 3 in July. I can't believe how much she has grown. She learns so many new words all the time, and continues to amaze me with all the things that she knows. She loves animals of all kinds, but her favorite is the horse. She loves to watch movies that have horses in them and ride her rocking horse right along with them. She loves to sing and dance also. She reminds me of my brother Nicholas. She will watch a movie just a couple of times and will be able to start repeating line
s to you and singing all of the songs. She is so much fun. She has a great personality, is very friendly, and so full of love. I am so grateful to be her mother!

I am just enjoying being a mom. I babysit 2 little boys part time, who are both 15 months old. So we always have little kids running around the house. I love being a stay at home mom. I am also enjoying my church calling in the Primary, and being able to get to know the children in the ward better.

Well that is our life as of now. I look forward to life's coming adventures and surprises.
